Who we are
Cake of Eden is a home-based bakery in Aberdeen, Scotland, run by Emily. For anything about your data, email hello@cakeofeden.co.uk.
What we collect
- Order details: what you'd like, flavours, design notes, dietary requirements and any allergies you tell us about, and your collection date.
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Payment records: PayPal processes your payment. We receive confirmation of the payment, the amount and the payer email, but never your card details.
- Technical data: a one-way, anonymised fingerprint of your IP address is used briefly to stop spam. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
To respond to your request, prepare and quote your order, take payment, arrange collection and keep records we're legally required to keep. Our lawful basis is taking steps to enter into, and perform, a contract with you. Allergy information is used only to make your order safely.
Who we share it with
Our website and order database are hosted by Cloudflare. Payments are handled by PayPal. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for up to six years for tax and accounting purposes, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your details sooner where we don't need to keep them by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Your browser
This site may remember an unfinished order form and your most recent order link in your own browser, so you don't lose your progress. This stays on your device and you can clear it at any time.
